Firefox OS- A web based OS for smartphones Coming this year 2013

Mozilla, the browser giant is now coming with their new smartphone OS named Firefox OS. They introduced new HTML5 web-based operating system at Mobile World Congress 2013 held in barcelona.

Firefox OS is an open-source web based operating system that can be used even with low-end hardware devices. As this is an open-source one, the third-party developers can freely sell their products in the marketplaces.

Unlike android and ios, Firefox OS is built up on HTML5 web standards. So anyone playing with web development can develop apps for the same. This will fill up their marketplace shelf within no time.

ZTE, LG, Huawei and Alcatel will ship their smartphones runs on Firefox OS from this July onwards. Mozilla demoed some of the above devices runs on their OS in Mobile World Congress.

Even questions remains, whether an html standard based OS can satisfy all the high-end needs of a smartphone user?. So let us wait n see.
